Definition

Nail infections or Onychomycosis, also known as tinea unguium, is a fungal infection affecting either the fingernails or toenails.[i]

Ayurveda describes infections of the nail to be caused by Raktaja krimis, which are very minute and invisible to the naked eye.[ii]
