Dizziness is a feeling of being lightheaded, woozy, or unbalanced. It affects the sensory organs, specifically the eyes and ears, so it can sometimes cause fainting1
Frequent spells of dizziness have a significant effect on life. But dizziness is rarely associated with a life-threatening condition. The causes and symptoms of dizziness govern the course of its treatment. The treatment works most of the times; however, the condition may recur.2
Fainting and dizziness is caused by increased vata dosha along with excess pitta moving in the nervous system. The first type is called as objective dizziness where one feels that the objects in the environment are moving. This is primarily caused by aggravated vata. The second type is called subjective dizziness where one has the feeling of swinging or disequilibrium, or being subjectively in motion. This type of dizziness is caused primarily by excess pitta.3
