Definition

Stomach problems of a diabetes patient are different than stomach problems of a normal healthy person. People with diabetes frequently suffer from gastric issues such as bloating, constipation, dehydration etc. These symptoms develops over time as the disease progresses, specifically seen as soon as other complications of the diabetes starts to set in, such as eye problems, foot infections, & kidney problems.[i]

In Ayurveda this is defined as impaired digestive fire (mand-agni). Food is digested with the help of all the doshas viz; Vata, pitta and kapha hence good balance of all the doshas is necessary to have a good digestion. [ii]
