India has around 100 million people suffering from chronic kidney disease. Chronic kidney disease is a serious condition in which kidneys do not function optimally to remove waste out of the body. Diabetes is a very common cause of chronic kidney disease. It has been estimated that 1 out of every 3 patient with chronic kidney disease has type 2 diabetes as the reason. If not diagnosed and treated optimally, it can lead to kidney failure.

According to Ayurveda ‘Mutravaha Srotas’ is the channel of urine in the body. It is responsible for creating urine, regulating water and pH in the body. Any disease or condition that affects the function of Mutravaha Srotas (channel of urine) is called kidney disease.
